I was walking around my neighbourhood in Paris when I stopped by a clothing boutique that had a diverse curated collection of their favourite items in the far back of the store ranging from water bottles to socks to this Pelegrims hand pomade.
I tried their sample tube of hand pomade and was immediately met with a magical, mysterious blast of scent that was far greater than the sum of its Rosemary Leaf, fig and amber scents. It smelled sweet, spicy, peppery and earthy - a little bit of heaven.
I bought a tube and then went back and bought another and then again one more before I left Paris. That is how my addiction to Pelegrims began.
Even though I live in Palm Springs, California, I now subscribe to the brilliant surprise box and am like a child waiting for it to arrive, tracking it from its journey from Kent in the UK across the ocean to me on the far side of the US.
I love the tiny lumps that melt when you rub your hands together. It feels like little explosions of butter. I noticed that the texture in the most recent tubes that I've received is smoother without the little buttery lumps which has taken away a bit of the magic. Has the formulation changed on purpose?
If you haven’t tried the hand soap yet, do not unless you want a second PELEGRIMS addiction!
The smell is equally sublime to the pomade yet different. Each time I wash my hands there is an explosion of scent. Gone are my precious bottles of Aesop hand soap, all now replaced by PELEGRIMS at every sink in my house!
Thanks for creating heavenly scents.
